The Bunker Center for the Arts exists utilizes of 10,000 square feet in the east crossroads to provide a nexus of creative activity. Our studio and gallery spaces are a destination for collectors, creators, and everyone in between.

For Artists

Our location in the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District allows our tenants and featured artist to capitalize on the traffic of the monthly First Friday Art Walks. By timing our opening receptions with the Artwalk, we maximize the exposure of our featured talent.

Gallery hours are 12-6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Our knowledgeable motivated staff understands that the best interests of our talent is indeed shared as our best interest. Therefore, we maintain a list of collectors and clients and aggressively market our talent to help find homes for our inventory.

Our social media presence provides real time promotion of our talent and events with a constant opportunity to actively engage and receive feedback from our audience. Via Facebook and Instagram, we maintain a following that is never more than a few clicks away.

While popularity and gentrification drives an increase in typical crossroads rent, we maintain a number of affordable studios for established and emerging artists. An artist doesn't have to starve to work in the hub of the Kansas City arts community. Studio spaces begin at $150/month.

For the Public

The Bunker Center for the Arts offers consultation to help collectors find the art that is right for them. If a collector hasn't seen exactly what they need in our space, our staff will happily provide assistance to find the perfect original art to fit a collector's needs.

Our open studio events and receptions allow the public to meet and talk with our talent on a personal level. This connection with the artist transcends the usual artist statement and prepared talk and builds a personal connection to the works being exhibited.

Our classes and workshops bring cultural knowledge and experiences to the community. We believe that art is a vital adhesive that holds a community together, and our mission to enrich our community is exemplified by our educational outreach efforts.

Of course, for the casual viewer or the advanced collector, our gallery is open 12-6 p.m. - Thursday through Saturday and by appointment. Schedule an appointment by calling or texting the Gallery Director, Tj Templeton at 712.541.5447
